In August 2020, the Senate President convened the Senate President's Advisory Work Group on Equity and Inclusion.

The Work Group reviewed the work of former task forces and previous legislation that addressed principles of inclusion and equity for all Marylanders. This review focused on systemic injustice, health care disparities, economic opportunity, and environmental justice. Further, the Work Group examined the status of inclusion and equity within the General Assembly and its agencies.

In January 2021, the Work Group submitted its final report.
