In July 2021, the Senate President and House Speaker formed the Legislative Redistricting Advisory Commission.
The Commission charge was to redraw Maryland's Congressional and Legislative election district maps.
Seven members constituted the Commission. Two members were appointed by the Senate President, and two by the House Speaker. Two members served ex officio. The Senate President and House Speaker designated the Chair.
On January 7, 2022, the Commission held its last meeting. At that time, the Commission voted on its recommended legislative plan and concluded its work.
