In May 2015, the Commission Regarding the Implementation and Use of Body Cameras by Law Enforcement Officers was established (Chapter 128, Acts of 2015).

The Commission studied and made recommendations on the best practices for the use of body cameras by law enforcement officers. Findings of the Commission were considered by the Police Training Commission, which by the same law was required to develop and publish by January 1, 2016 State policy for the issuance and use of body cameras by law enforcement officers.

In September 2015, the Commission submitted its report to the General Assembly and the Police Training Commission.

Authorization for the Commission ended June 1, 2016.
