In July 2019, the Task Force to Study Transportation Access was created (Chapter 705, Acts of 2019).

For persons and families in Maryland who are without access to public transportation or unable to use personal motor vehicles, the Task Force was to formulate solutions that improve access to employment; training and educational opportunities; health and rehabilitative services; and other social services.

In the course of its study, the Task Force was to review and extrapolate information and recommendations from current human services transportation plans, pilot projects, and reports. Finally, the Task Force was to recommend policies and actions to improve transportation access for those lacking that access.

Authorization for the Task Force ended June 30, 2022.
